This is a popular coffee making technique used in Indian households. Many of my friends from all around the world, have given me great feedback after drinking this desi style coffee. It's a perfect hot drink for those cold mornings.
In all my cooking, I use organic Jaggery Sweetener (Gur) instead of sugar, because it is healthier & wholesome. Feel free to use regular or brown sugar if you prefer that. For this coffee recipe, I use classic instant coffee.

Servings: 2 Cups
Ingredients
- 2 Cups Whole Milk (may use skim milk)
- 2 Teaspoons Jaggery Sweetener (Gur) (may use regular sugar)
- 2 Teaspoons Instant Coffee (Nescafe classic, I wish it came as organic)
- 1 Teaspoon Cocoa Powder (sprinkle on top)
Instructions
- In a small bowl add coffee, jaggery, and 1 teaspoon milk.
- Beat with a spoon until the mixture becomes light brown in color and is whipped and creamy.
- Boil milk in a pan.
- Divide the mixture equally into 2 mugs and pour hot milk.
- Stir well, sprinkle cocoa powder and serve hot.
